Joliet Station New Boarding Location
Effective February 12, 2018
A new boarding location in Joliet opens to the public on Monday, February 12, 2018.
The new raised brick paver platform is located between the tracks for boarding of Amtrak or Metra Heritage Corridor trains on either side. Access to the platform is through two new pedestrian tunnels.
The main entrance of the south tunnel is through the portico entrance of the new train station located on Mayor Art Schultz Drive between Washington and Jefferson Streets. The north tunnel entrance is located on Mayor Art Schultz Drive between Van Buren and Clinton Streets. Mayor Art Schultz Drive between Van Buren and Clinton Streets has been reopened for drop off and pick up of Amtrak and Metra Heritage Corridor passengers.
Both tunnels have stairs and an elevator to access the new platform. There will be additional sidewalk signs to direct passengers to the new tunnel entrance points.
The temporary ticket office remains open. The temporary platform behind the ticket office will be closed as of February 12 and removed this spring.
Please use caution when walking and driving in this area as portions are still active construction zones.
